It was Business Week at the London Jewellery School last week and I wrote a few blog posts for this. The shop is open every day from 10.30-6pm and also features some gorgeous goodies from lots of lovely British-based designers. I am working in the We Make London Camden Lock market pop up shop today. The designers take turns to work in the shop. Today I was working with Samantha Morris who designs prints and homewares . We were playing around with our stock and she took this photo of some of my sweetie jewellery and one of her prints. It's got a bit of a candy coloured vibe!

I'm really pleased to announce that my jewellery will be on sale in two places this christmas. I will continue to sell from the We Make London pop up shop in Camden Lock market, London . I will also be part of the exciting  christmas at Kew boutique market . Kew Gardens is going to be a magical place to visit this christmas, with an illuminated trail that lights a mile long walk through the gardens; santas grotto and rides as well as the market. For those not in London, my etsy shop is open 24 hours a day!

I am currently selling my sweetie jewellery in a pop up shop in Camden Lock market for We Make London . I have decided to stay selling in the shop until after christmas as the sales have been pretty promising. As part of the agreement for selling there each maker has to work in the shop for two days of the month. This week I took in some new items and a new display stand. My new sweetie jars! They fit the sweetie bracelets perfectly and make a great stocking filler. I'm currently only stocking them in the shop as they are heavy to post. Some new felt ball bracelets (the felt balls are attached to a silver plated chain and the clasp is a silver plated t-bar). I've also added some new felt earrings in different colours Hopefully sales will continue to be good. Do pop in and browse in the shop if you're in London!

Yesterday I took my stock to the We Make London pop up shop . It's located in Camden Lock Market , London. My jewellery will be on sale here for six weeks to start with (to see how it sells). I hope to be in the shop in December which is always my busiest sale time. I'm sure a lot of designers would like to be in then too! I enjoyed getting my stock set up. I took along everything as I hadn't sold in a pop up shop before and wasn't sure how much stock I should take! As part of the deal every designer works in the shop for two days so I worked in the shop until about 6pm. I enjoyed the experience as I got to see what the customers were looking at and buying. I got the hang of the credit card machine and hopefully didn't make any mistakes! Takes me back to my shop work when I was at university!

My pieces will be on sale from 2nd September until 14th October (and for longer if sales are good). I'll take some pictures of my jewellery when it's on sale to share on the blog. We Make London is a fantastic organisation that promotes UK based designer-makers. I've sold at their handmade markets before, last christmas ( here's my blog post about it ). I've also sold at Camden Lock market a couple of times but the pop up shop is fantastic for me as my jewellery will be available seven days a week and I won't need to be there! Market day is fun but it's a looooong day! So, I've been busy making more stock. I've got a few different pieces in the works at the moment too so I will get some pictures of them done soon!

On Saturday I did my first We Make London  handmade market stall at  Spitalfields market , London. I have previously only been selling online via Etsy or to people I know but I thought it was a good chance to see how well I could do at a market this close to christmas. I decided to display my  sweetie shop jewellery  rather than make a lot of silver jewellery as I'd visited the market a few weeks earlier and found that cheaper items were more likely to sell. It was a cold day but Spitalfields is under cover so there's no worry about getting rained on! It was quite a busy day and We Make London ensure there is a diversity of different handmade products available to attract customers. I was really pleased with how it went and I was very happy with my takings at the end of the day.  It is an expensive market to have a stall at but I would do it again by sharing a stall with another crafter.

On Saturday I went to Old Spitalfields market for the We Make London handmade market . My friend from Grace and Firefly  had a stall there. I manned the stall for a bit while she got a coffee and I actually managed to sell a ring!  I also had a chance to look around the market and enjoyed seeing the mix of handmade items - from jewellery, purses, cosmetics, prints - there was definitely something for everyone. I bought some lovely things! I chose some glass earrings and a fused glass brooch from Grace and Firefly  and a cherry necklace from   Despina Ceramics .  I have applied to run my first stall there is November so I'll let you know if I am accepted!
