Black Friday has arrived and along with it an astounding amount of offers in my inbox and on facebook. For an American tradition it really has found some traction here in the UK! Don't get me wrong, I will be looking at whether I can get some christmas present shopping done but I noticed that there are some great offers out there for metal clay artists to invest in their own training or to stock up on supplies. I'm sure I've mentioned in a previous blog post that I have become somewhat obsessed with podcasts!  What is a podcast? A podcast is an audio file, similar to a radio programme, that is available to listen to online via your computer or to download onto your smartphone or tablet device to listen to offline. There are thousands of regular podcasts out there and I got into listening to them through the award winning crime podcast Serial, series 1 (if you were also hooked on that I highly recommend you listen to Undisclosed which looks at the same case in much more depth). I tend to download podcasts onto my phone to listen to when I am commuting. I currently regularly listen to the following (non-creativity!) podcasts - Undisclosed , Science for the People , VibeRide , Quiet: the power of Introverts and Breakdown .  I am sharing this really interesting blog post written by Alison Lee of Craftcast . 'CRAFTCAST™ is the number 1 leading website for hosting LIVE online classes with the top workshop teachers in their creative fields, as well as offering complete class recordings for sale as an immediate download. CRAFTCAST, the podcast, has had over 750,000 downloads with thousands of people attending the live online classes.' I have taken a few Craftcast classes and I love the amount that is covered in them and being able to watch them again. Craftcast There are a number of really excellent online resources now for learning to craft. I really want to recommend Alison Lee's Craftcast . I have now purchased two recordings from Craftcast and have subscribed to the free podcast via itunes. You can also virtually attend classes and then ask questions as you would in any class. I haven't done this yet because the time difference has meant that they are normally in the middle of the night for me here in the UK! I do know that some students from the UK and Europe do virtually attend the live sessions but I am happy with the recordings and a good nights sleep! It is so great to be able to get real value out of them, they are packed full of hints and tips. I love that I can  download them, unlike some online services, and watch them as many times as I like!
