Kreativ blogger award

I was really pleased to learn that my friend Christel has awarded me the Kreativ Blogger award. It's such a lovely idea. When you are nominated you then nominate ten other bloggers (and let them know) and reveal ten things about yourself. As I have already done my A-Z post I'll try to add ten things that aren't listed there!

My ten things
1. I have seen polar bears in the Arctic circle (Churchill in Canada). One particularly large male bear locked eyes with me as he walked past which was unforgettable
2. My favourite chocolate bar is probably the cadburys creme egg - so this time of year is great for me! Oh, I love lindt too. OK, it's difficult to choose!
3. I am currently doing a Masters degree in Academic Practice
4. I am considering buying a kindle (after having bought one for my Mum for her birthday!)
5. I never just watch TV for the sake of it. There are some things I like to watch e.g. Doctor Who, Silent Witness, House - but no soaps!
6. I've had my picture t…

Pledging to buy handmade

I have read some very interesting and thought-provoking blog posts recently about the benefits and joys of buying handmade items. I would recommend the mindful spending posts on the fantastic Scoutie Girl blog.

The artist has the thrill of knowing that someone valued their design and work enough to invest in it which does wonders for self confidence; I know having perfect strangers buy my jewellery on Etsy has always made my day.
And of course, as a buyer, I love having beautiful things that have been hand made and not manufactured.
So I have made a point of buying something handmade each month. I don't tend to have an amount of money in mind as I suppose the tithing idea would suggest, I just buy something I love.

Here are a few images of things that …

Licorice allsort bracelet on T4!

My friend, Christel (see her blog here) drew my attention to the fact that a presenter on T4, Jameela Jamil, was wearing a licorice allsort bracelet on the show on Saturday (2/4/11). After a quick search I found this image and she is indeed! I don't think it's one of mine but nice to see a sweetie bracelet on such a fashionista!
Mine is available here
