Learn silversmithing from home

Metal clay masterclasses in the UK 2016

I love learning new skills so I always keep an eye on the metal clay masterclasses that are being run in the UK. So far this year I have already attended classes with Tracey Spurgin and Joy Funnell !  I have now collected links to those that I know about in a pinterest board that you can see below. Silver clay on Create and Craft TV

Exciting news - Jessica Rose, director at the London Jewellery School , has been working with Create and Craft TV and her first live shows will be tomorrow, Thursday 10th March 2016 at 10am and 6pm. “We hope the shows with Create and Craft and our partnerships will be the next stage in bringing excellent quality learning resources and tools to the jewellery making community and home jewellery businesses,” said Jessica. “It is an exciting time and we hope to reach as many jewellers as possible with our message that everyone can make jewellery, followed up with training, tools and kits to make that a reality.” The shows will feature metal clay kits and the opportunity to purchase online classes including Metal silver clay charms by Julia Rai and, eventually, my course, stone setting in metal clay (torch fire techniques) . My first online tutorial is now available!

Following a very successful pre-sale, I am pleased to announce that my first online tutorial for Jewellery School Online is now fully available for purchase and watching! All the projects are shown from start to finish and can be torch fired.  The class is called Stone setting in silver clay (torch fired techniques) The projects include setting a man made stone in wet clay setting a dichroic glass piece setting a bezel cup The videos were professionally filmed and you can watch them as many times as you like. You receive full notes and a list of tools needed.

We all know that it’s not enough to have our products for sale online, we have to actively promote them. But how do we do this without spending a fortune? Here are five ways to promote your business without spending money on advertising Using social media effectively Social media is a great tool to promote your business but to drive your business forward you need to use it efficiently and effectively. Here are a couple of ways you can do this Check what’s working You can do this on your facebook business page by accessing your page and clicking on ‘insights’. This shows you, amongst other things, how many people saw your post and engaged with it. See if you can spot a pattern. Do you get more engagement when you share videos? When you ask questions?
